About
Therapy style
My style is practical and collaborative. I draw on both the structure and clarity of CBT, and the deeper, brain-based healing power of EMDR therapy to help clients make meaningful progress. This combination allows me to support people through a wide range of issues – from anxiety, shame, low self-esteem and burnout to the more hidden wounds of past abuse or chronic emotional neglect.

Who I work with
Many of my clients are residents of London who come from all over the world – expats, working people in general, creatives, students, parents and grandparents navigating life’s challenges in an often overwhelming city. I offer therapy to clients aged 21+ across the UK and beyond.
Online or in person?
Most of my sessions are held online, via Zoom. This allows for maximum flexibility, especially for people with busy lives. EMDR works very well online – it is safe, effective, and just as powerful as in-person sessions when facilitated by a trained professional. I do offer some in person sessions – in Southwest London, see here suzydittmar.co.uk
Insurance, fees and availability
Please contact me for up-to-date information on session fees, any insurance cover you may have, and current availability. Some of my clients have international jobs and an insurance packet that includes, for example, AXA International, Modern Health or Cigna Global, who I am registered with. I am also covered by British private insurances such as Vitality, WPA, AXA UK and HCRM. I also accept self-paying clients.
In summary
Healing from trauma is possible. Whether you are carrying the effects of a recent shock or old, buried wounds, EMDR offers a way forward – one that is respectful, evidence-based, and deeply transformative.
If you are looking for a skilled, experienced, culturally aware and diversity friendly therapist who can offer online EMDR in English or German, I’d be delighted to speak to you. Feel free to get in touch with any questions – either via email, or we can schedule a free 15 minute initial phone chat.

About me
I have lived and worked in or near London for many years, but I regularly spend time in the small town on the Baltic coast in Schleswig-Holstein where I grew up. I am currently based in Southwest London, where I am also available for in-person sessions. I am bilingual in English and German and also speak some Danish. I work in a neurodiversity-affirming and LGBTQ+-friendly way. I also bring a great deal of understanding to people whose lives have involved moves between countries and international travel for work.
I have a Masters Degree in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from Goldsmiths University in London and completed the three parts of the EMDR therapist training in London, too. I am accredited as a CBT therapist by the British professional body for CBT therapists, the BABCP, and as an EMDR therapist by EMDR UK, EMDR Europe and EMDRIA Deutschland. My training also encompasses ACT and CFT.
